Location: RG41.
The brief was to refurbish the tired and dated students and visitors washrooms, create a wider opening into the girls washroom for easier supervision to reduce anti-social behaviour, floor to ceiling cubicles for greater privacy and to enable a removal of the entrance door.
The cubicles and new duct panelling are all in hardwearing, waterproof solid grade laminate with SAA hardware, we specified a solid surface wash trough and sensor taps for hygienic and touch free hand washing and auto hand dryers.
The toilets are back to wall with Grohe concealed cisterns with a large easy push button
We also installed hygienic wall cladding to the walls in white to create a wipeable clean finish, with a new suspended ceiling in wipeable tiles and new LED lights switched by PIR, hidden above the ceiling is a new ventilation system providing extraction from each cubicle, every cubicle also has its own PIR switched light, and safety flooring.
We also upgraded the pipe size of the cold feed to the toilets to speed up the cistern fill time to make sure the users have a full cistern to flush when ready.
Mirrors over the wash troughs, and a new radiator were also included, along with final decoration.
All this was completed in a 5 week time frame within the summer holiday.
